Our Family Has Given A Voice To The Injured For Over 50 Combined Years
Two Franklin Township school buses collided on Thursday, injuring a 9-year-old boy. According to police, the crash occurred at the intersection of Taylor Road and Reed Avenue in Franklin Township, but no further information about the cause of the crash has been released. The child was admitted to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities said no one else was injured in the collision, and a third bus was called to transport the remaining students to their respective schools. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Students on school buses face serious accident injury risks from the force of impact, broken glass, and unsecured objects tossed around inside the bus. Due to the lack of seat belts, the sudden impact can throw students from their seats, causing impact or impalement injuries, or ejection from the bus, which can result in severe and life-threatening injuries.
Additionally, buses easily overturn during collisions, and evacuating a damaged or overturned bus can be dangerous, especially in the event of a fire, leaking fuel, or blocked exits.
